Who Are You Following, and Who's Following You? Who Are You Leading, and Where Are You Leading T
Good Morning My Loves, I see it all the time. A person hears the call to follow Jesus, immediately responds, is set on fire, and those that follow them appear to be following Jesus as well. Many are natural born leaders with great influence, and some (not all) don’t steward that influence well. I want to applaud all of those that are sold out to Jesus Christ with unwavering devotion and stewarding your influence well. You are a rare and special person in whom the Lord is well pleased! You will one day hear the Lord say, “Well done my good and faithful servant!"
However, it’s always grievous when the enemy gets ahold of those that don’t steward their influence well, and before long they leave the path of life that Jesus is walking them down, and wander off taking their followers with them. Unfortunately their followers were never following Jesus in the first place, and they get sucked into whatever the more charismatic person is into at the moment. This is why each of us must take our walk with the Lord seriously.
There are only two paths. The path of life is being led by Jesus Christ, and the path of death is being led by satan.
-Who are you following? -Are you on the path of life following the Jesus Christ of the Bible, or have you wandered off? -Who is following you? -Who are you leading, and where are you leading them? -Can you say to your friends and family, “Follow me, as I follow Christ?” -Are you leading your friends and family to the altar and into the presence of God, or some other altar (i.e. mammon, materialism, humanism, revelry, immorality, witchcraft, idolatry, etc…)? Each one of us has been called to be a “follower” of Jesus Christ. Whenever Jesus found a disciple the first thing He said was, “Follow Me.” He didn’t say, “Follow your friends that follow Me, until they no longer follow Me, and then follow them wherever they decide to go.” No. He said, “Follow Me.” Period. 18 As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He noticed two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 And He said to them, “Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example]. (Matthew 4:18-20 AMP) -Where are you today?
-Are you following the example of Jesus, or the example man? -What kind of example are you setting?
-Are you still going to go to church, go to the altar, go after Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, regardless of what others are doing, or are you going to do whatever your friends or family are doing? God is lovingly calling all the wanderers home, and all the followers of man, to COME FOLLOW ME! He’s calling all His followers to do their best to bring back those who’ve wandered off. -Who do you see wandering?
-Who do you need to text, call, pray for, encourage? Here’s what James said: 19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. (James 5:19-20 NKJV)
Let’s set a good example for our friends and family by being wholly devoted to Jesus. Let’s go after the wanders with great love and affection, but let’s not wander off ourselves. Let’s take our responsibility as followers of Christ seriously, and be great followers. Great followers make great leaders, and we are all leading someone. Let’s make sure we are leading them to life, and not death and destruction!
I love you all! PV
