Cling to God and His Word, and GET UP AND LEAD!
Good Morning My Loves, Did you know that someone else is counting on your leadership in order for them to receive their promise? There are many people counting on you to get over the grief, discouragement, and disappointment of the past season, and get up and move forward. As I was reading in Joshua this morning, I began to think about the spirit of Joshua. He had just lost his mentor Moses. He had been beside him as they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years with a bunch of whining complainers. He had seen Moses betrayed, angry, and weary from the journey to the promise land. His mentor had made it to the edge of the promise land. He had seen the glory of God, spent time face to face with God, taught the children of Israel the Laws of God, but because of his disobedience, he was not allowed to take them into the promise land. Even though Moses was faithful to lead God’s people to the edge of the promise land, they simply "WERE NOT QUITE THERE!"
I’m sure Joshua felt the loss, and was processing through his own pain, but he knew there was more ahead and someone had to lead. His family and friends inheritance-promise, as well as his own, depended on it. He had seen the promise land, and he had faith for it, but he had to conquer his emotions and get up and lead, if he was going to take possession of it. He couldn’t stay stuck in a place where a significant relationship died on him, or he would never move forward into his promise. Nor would he lead those who were depending on him into theirs. -Who’s died on you? -What disappointments and failures do you need to give over to God, overcome, and walk away from? God is always offering you grace and strength to possess your promise, but you've got to receive it and move on! -Who do you need to leave behind in order to walk into your season of promise? -What door do you need to close in your past, so you can walk through the open doors in your future? Here’s what the Lord said to Joshua:
5 Just as I was with Moses, I will be with you. No one will be able to stop you all your life. I will not abandon you. I will never leave you.
6 “Joshua, you must be strong and brave! You must lead these people so that they can take their land. I promised their fathers that I would give them this land. 7 But you must be strong and brave about obeying the commands my servant Moses gave you. If you follow his teachings exactly, you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Always remember what is written in that book of law. Speak about that book and study it day and night. Then you can be sure to obey what is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything you do. 9 Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:5-9 ERV) We know that Joshua did as the Lord instructed him, and the rest is history. There comes a defining moment in our lives when we can no longer wallow in what happened in previous seasons. We must cling to God and His Word, and get up and lead. Lead ourselves, and lead those who are counting on us. -We must not allow the enemy to keep us at the place of “not quite there.”
-We’ve got to get up and press on.
-We’ve got to make up our mind, “I’m going to take possession of my promise, regardless of what has transpired. I’m going to cling to God and His Word, and get up and lead!” I declare that this is your season of momentum. You are closing the door on the past, and leading yourself and your family into your season of promise! God is with you, He will NOT abandon you, and no one will be able to stop you! I love you all!
