Attitude Determines Altitude
Good Morning My Loves, There are times in our lives when we come under full frontal assault with sickness, accusation, slander, betrayal, abandonment, financial loss, etc.. There are also times when we’re not only battling the demons “without,” but the ungodly attitudes and behaviors “within” that need to be corrected and worked out so we can be strong and victorious. The enemy works overtime to get us into pride, because he knows that pride cuts us off from the presence of God, and it make us fall. Pride will cause you to have an “independent” spirit that says, “I can handle this on my own. I don’t need God, accountability (pastor), a community (church) that understands my struggles that can pray me through this, a prayer life, etc…”
18 Pride is the first step toward destruction. Proud thoughts will lead you to defeat. (Proverbs 16:18 ERV) He’s bent on our total destruction, and he will do anything he can to keep us from reaching for God in utter dependency and humility. -When all hell is breaking loose in our family, we need the presence of God. -When our body is being hit with infirmity, we need the presence of God. -When we’re being slandered and betrayed, we need the presence of God. -When doors are closing and nothing seems to be opening, we need the presence of God. -When our spouse, children, parents, friends, leave us and we’re all alone, we need the presence of God. -When we’ve lost our job and we’re in between jobs, we need the presence of God. -When we’ve been lied to and stolen from, we need the presence of God.
-When we’re experiencing the chastening of the Lord, we need the presence of God.
My beloved, we all need an attitude of humility when we are going through seasons like this. Reaching for God, and accountability with the family of God, is a sign of humility.
Choosing to be an aggressive prayer warrior, instead of an aggressive complainer is a sign of humility. When you talk more to God about your grievances than you do to others, you are showing that you trust Him with your pain more than anyone else! An attitude of humility guarantees that you’ll be elevated and lifted up by God himself! 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. (James 4:10 NKJV) An attitude of humility ensures His presence in the midst of these trials, and when God is in the storm with you, He always brings a calm and gets you to the other side! It also causes your prayers to be highly effective. When you exercise your authority in Christ and resist the devil, he has to flee! Humility keeps you on God’s side, and that’s always a win win! You can’t whip the devil coming in agreement with him. Pride always puts you on the enemy’s side, and that’s always a lose lose! You can’t afford pride. Pride cuts you off from the manifest presence of God, and humility keeps you connected. So, lean into God. Go to church. Ask for prayer. Get an accountability partner that will help pray you through. Make intimacy your #1 priority. Keep an attitude of humility and TRUST GOD! Keep pride out…whatever the cost. Remember, your attitude determines your altitude! I love you all! PV
