Stay Focused on Jesus!
Good Morning My Loves,
I was speaking with some friends recently who've been going through a very difficult season. They seemed to be hanging on by a thread. The attacks have been relentless and coming from every direction. After praying and encouraging them, the Holy Spirit reminded me of a time I was going through a similar season. He gave me a dream prior to that season that “marked” me, and has helped me to maintain my equilibrium and focus when under attack ever since.
The dream was horrifying. I was in a dark room. There were winds so fierce that they were ripping my limbs off. Wind would come at me and hit me so hard that it would flip me over. It would then turn into a vacuum that pulled my body parts in another direction. I was being dismembered. As my limbs came off, I was trying to reach for them and pull them back together. Eventually my head separated from the body. I felt that the only thing I had control of was my “eyes.” It was then that I “saw” a box with a light in it. The light was the only stable thing in that dark room with fierce winds.
As I “fixed my eyes” on the light, my limbs returned to me. I came back together. I stabilized. I became, and remained whole. I awoke.
The Holy Spirit said, “Jesus is the Light. You must be relentless with distractions. You cannot look at the winds of adversity and Jesus at the same time.
-You must fix your eyes on Him in this season, and you will not fall apart.
-Whatever He removes, don’t go after it. Let it go. Look at Him.
-Don’t look at what you’ve lost, or have the potential to lose. Look at Him.
-Don’t focus on what’s been done to you, or what you’ve done. Forgive. Repent. Receive His mercy. Move on. Look at Him.
-Don’t have a devil focus. Have a God focus. Look at Him.
-Don’t magnify the problem. Magnify God. Look at Him.
-All of Heaven is backing you, rooting for you, just waiting to go to work on your behalf as you stay in faith. Look at Him!
-Get up, go to church, and LOOK AT HIM!”
The scripture that came to mind was Hebrews 12:1-2 which says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, 2 [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work]. Hebrews 12:1-2 (AMP)
I listened. I obeyed. I did just that. That season is behind me now. God has, and is, increasing my life exceedingly and abundantly more than I could ever ask or think. However, I’ve learned to be ruthless with distractions. God is good all the time, and He’ll always hold you and I together regardless of what we go through, if we’ll trust Him and keep our eyes on Him. Not only that, we’ll be further along than those who get distracted and into doubt.
"With the measure you doubt, you go down. By the measure of your faith, you go UP! People of faith are always further along than doubters!”
I love you all! PV
